Matthew is a shareholder at Hill Ward Henderson focusing on complex commercial litigation including litigating and advising on insurance coverage disputes, contract disputes and management-side employment matters. The diversity of Matthew’s practice is reflected in the diversity of the clients he represents: from Fortune 100 companies and large insurance companies to small and up-and-coming businesses and individuals. Matthew has worked to obtain six-figure recoveries on behalf of his clients in breach of contract actions and successfully defended other clients from multi-million dollar claims of negligence.
Prior to attending law school, Matthew served as an infantryman in the U.S. Army, deploying to Iraq in 2003. With this history, Matthew knows the importance of service and continues to try to give back to the military veteran community and the community at large. He played instrumental roles in creating and leading the military and veterans affairs committees for the Ybor City Chamber of Commerce and the Hillsborough County Bar Association. Matthew also created the first endowed scholarship for military veterans at University of Florida School of Law and is accredited to represent veterans’ benefits claims before the Department of Veterans Affairs and assists veterans at no cost to secure their disability benefits. He is also a life member of both the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
